Chucks' "Brown County" Fudge

1 1/2 Sticks of butter
1 C of chopped nuts (optional)
5 oz can of evaporated milk
1 12 oz bag of semi sweet chocolate chips*
3 C of sugar (extra fine bakers sugar)
1 tsp vanilla**
7 oz marshmallow cream
4 Tbsp light corn syrup
Butter a 7" x 11" pan and set aside.
In a 3 quart pan, combine the milk and butter over high heat, and stir until butter has melted. Add sugar and stir until sugar has dissolved. Add marshmallow cream and stir until mixture has come to a boil. Turn back heat to medium and cook 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Turn off heat and add nuts, stir until mixed in. Add the chips and stir until they dissolve and the mixture has a glossy appearance. Add the vanilla and stir to mix in. Add the corn syrup and stir until mixed in. Pour into prepared pan and chill for 3-4 hours.
Note: *May substitute other flavored chips: Butterscotch Chips, PeanutButter Chips, White Chips, White Chocolate Chips with or with-out food coloring.
